Washington University minimally invasive specialists focus on upper GI, hernia, solid organ and weight loss (bariatric) surgery. As a group, they perform a wide range of laparoscopic and open procedures for gastrointestinal (GI) conditions such as swallowing disorders, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gallbladder conditions, adrenal gland tumors and morbid obesity. Their goal is to increase patient benefit by decreasing the size of surgical incisions. These efforts result in less pain and faster recovery.
