The physicians of Barnes-Jewish and St. Louis Children's Hospitals are always interested in extending treatment to patients from countries outside the United States. We ask patients to coordinate their requests for second opinions or treatment through their personal physician or sponsoring organization. This is needed because a thorough review of records is necessary to determine if we can assist the patient before any costs are incurred.
Physicians, please fax the following information directly to the physician's office for review:
- brief clinical summary including previous surgeries
- health history
- current medications
- radiology studies/imaging/pathology
- laboratory results
All information must be complete and submitted in English.
Coordination of physician appointments is made through our Washington University Care Coordination office. Both Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children's Hospital have excellent Patient and Guest Services who can help with interpreters, short and long-term housing for family members, and other local requirements
