Under the leadership of Craig K. Reiss, M.D., the Sam and Marilyn Fox Distinguished Professor of Medicine and the medical director of the institute, services include:
Full-service diagnostic testing, including stress and non-stress echocardiograms, nuclear medicine stress testing, radionuclide ventriculography, Holter, event and loop monitors, non-invasive vascular studies, vascular lab, diagnostic catheterization and pacemaker monitoring.
Consultation and management for the full spectrum of heart problems and cardiac diseases, including prevention programs, second opinion consultations, routine chemistry lab, pre-operative consultations, lipid and cholesterol consultations. Subspecialty consultations and disease management are provided for patients with congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, chest pain, valvular heart disease, arrhythmia or cardiomyopathy. Also offered is a specialist in women's heart disease and a full-service hypertension management.
Cardiac rehabilitation is provided by licensed and certified staff in a facility designed exclusively for cardiac patients with telemetry monitoring, eliptical trainers, treadmills, recumbant cycles, rowing machines, weights and an indoor track.
The institute focuses on prevention and wellness, and offers an auditorium for community lectures, a kitchen for heart-healthy cooking demonstrations and a patient library. The institute has as its goal to maintain a close working relationship with referring physicians, viewed as an integral part of the team, and to promote the quick return of patients to their referring physicians.
