The physicians of Barnes-Jewish and St. Louis Children's Hospitals are always interested in extending treatment to patients from countries outside the United States. We ask patients to coordinate their requests for second opinions or treatment through their personal physician or sponsoring organization. This is because a thorough review of records is necessary before we can determine if we can help the patient before any costs are incurred.
Physicians, please contact us by
email
, with a short summary of the patient's diagnosis and your initial treatment plan. We will forward this summary to the right department for review and follow-up. Although English is preferred, you may email in your own language.
If we can be of help to you by seeing your patient here at Washington University Medical Center, coordination of physicians appointments is made through our Washington University Care Coordination office. Both Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children's Hospital have excellent Patient and Guest Services who can help with interpreters, short and long-term housing for family members, and other local requirements.
