Questions and Answers About the 2012 Pedal the Cause

Q. What opportunities exist to get involved?
A. There are participation opportunities for cyclists and non-cyclists alike. With four routes of varying length, avid and amateur cyclists are sure to find a route customized to their skill levels. Those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground may register as virtual riders and/or volunteers.

Q. I want to ride. What are the fundraising requirements?
A There are fundraising minimums for each route. They are:
$500 to ride the 15 mile course
$500 to ride the 25 mile course
$1000 to ride the 50 mile course
$1000 to ride the 75 mile course
Q. What are the routes for the four different length courses?
A. All courses start and end at Soldiers Memorial in downtown St. Louis. Course maps can be found on the PTC website. Please visit http://www.pedalthecause.org/courses.jsp

Q. What is the course surface?
A. All four courses for Pedal the Cause are road courses on pavement. Each course begins heading west from Soldiers Memorial and then loops back east to return to Soldiers' Memorial.

Q. I do not have a bike but want to ride. Are there rental options available?
A. Yes. Individuals who wish to participate but do not own a bike may either rent a bike for the event or register as a rider in the spin tent. Q. How old do you have to be to ride?

Q. Why do does PTC ask for your credit card?
A. Each rider must pay a non-refundable registration fee that does not count toward his or her fundraising minimum. This $100 fee is charged to your card at the time of registration. Your card information will remain on file in case you do not reach your minimum by the fundraising deadline of October 31st, 2012. Any remaining balance will be charged on November 2nd to the card on file. A tax receipt will be mailed to you within a week.
